Economic Development News & Notes
Town and Gown Efforts:

Commerce Lexington, in partnership with LFUCG and the UK Alumni Association, held a reception for UK alumni and economic development clients and consultants in Chicago in November. The keynote speakers were Mayor Jim Newberry and Dr. Lee Todd. We had a great turnout with over 150 people attending. The event was a great way to showcase Lexington, as well as encourage people to come back home! During the trip, Commerce Lexington's economic development team also met individually with site selection consultants to promote Lexington.

See photos below from the event.

What do you think of when you think of the Bluegrass? Most people think of rolling countryside with stone fences, great basketball action, horse farms, Thoroughbred racing at Keeneland, a diverse economy, and outstanding schools, colleges and universities. There's a reason that so many transplanted Kentuckians have made this region their home - they enjoy a wonderful quality of life.

The Bluegrass has been rated as one of America's premier cities by some of the most noted and revered industry standard-bearers, such as Forbes magazine, the U.S. Census Bureau, Cognetics consulting group, Dun & Bradstreet, Ladies Home Journal, and Places Rated Almanac - just to name a few. Our community ranks high in quality of life factors, such as health care, public safety, educational attainment, and quality family living. The area also measures high among the best places for business location, creativity, entrepreneurial growth, and career relocation. Residents of competing cities view Lexington as a beautiful place, with great schools, an innovative health care system, a strong economy, and mountains of potential.

At Commerce Lexington Inc., everything we do is aimed at helping business owners succeed by equipping them with the tools they need to grow or expand their business. It is equally important for us to assist the area’s existing business, while seeking to attract new business and new jobs to the area. Find out how we can help you today! Call (859) 254-4447.
